On March 8, 2019, Ms. Zhao Yan, Chairman/ President of Bloomage Biotech, participated in the Symposium on Innovative Pharmaceutical Development to Assist Health China—2019 Medical and Pharmaceutical Representatives, which was guided by People's Daily and sponsored by the People's Daily Online and Health Times. 

Guests participating in this conference include representatives and committee members of the NPC and CPPCC from the fields of government management, medicine and industry, as well as some pharmaceutical and health industry.

At the meeting, Chairman Zhao said that the development of innovative enterprises could not be separated from the support of the national regulatory system during dialogue and communication with representative members. At the same time, the innovative development of enterprises also needed the support from the national regulatory authorities in terms of examination and approval.

Chairman Zhao introduced that Bloomage Biotech was a leading enterprise in the production of hyaluronic acid commonly known as hyaluronic acid in China. After 20 years of development, it has formed two business plates of raw materials and terminal products. It has two core technology platforms, biological fermentation platform and hyaluronic acid cross-linking platform. Investment in Research and Development accounts for 12%-15% every year, and R&D personnel account for 15% of all employees.

Bloomage Biotech is one of the few domestic manufacturers that have obtained approval numbers of pharmaceutical excipients and raw materials for the production of hyaluronic acid by fermentation, passed the new GMP certification of China and obtained the HA production qualification of new food raw materials. At the same time, Bloomage Biotech is also an important member participating in drafting a number of industry standards for hyaluronic acid, all of which benefit from the support of the state.

At the same time, Chairman Zhao also pointed out the difficulties encountered in the process of innovation and development. For example, hyaluronic acid is a substance contained in human body itself and proved to be a very safe substance. It has been applied in raw materials of medicine, medical equipment and skin care industry for nearly 20 years. But in the food sector, 20 years have not been approved. This limits the innovative development of the industry to some extent. 

She hopes that she can offer suggestions for the development of enterprises in innovation and development through the dialogue with the representative members, and obtain the support from the national system level.
