Hyaluronic Acid Continues to Upgrade in Various Fields of Application, Bloomage Biotech Actively Organizes China (Jinan) Hyaluronic Acid Industry Conference

2023.06.14

China (Jinan) Hyaluronic Acid Industry Conference was held grandly in Jinan on June 3rd. This Conference comprehensively discussed the efficacy and role of hyaluronic acid in promoting human health from research and development of hyaluronic acid raw materials, food, cosmetics, medical care, and anti-aging. Its rich contents can be regarded as s "an evolutionary history of hyaluronic acid".

Although hyaluronic acid has already been integrated into various  aspects of our lives, most consumers only regard it as a beauty product, lacking a comprehensive understanding of hyaluronic acid. The "6.3 Hyaluronic Acid Health Day" initiative was launched during the conference to popularize hyaluronic acid to the entire society and contribute to human health, beauty, and happiness.

Hyaluronic acid is widely distributed in the synovial fluid, vitreous body, skin, umbilical cord, and other parts of humans and animals. Insufficient hyaluronic acid in the body can lead to problems such as dry eyes, rough skin, arthritis, etc.

In the early days, hyaluronic acid was produced by comb extraction, with only one kilogram of hyaluronic acid obtained from = every 200 kilograms of combs. In 1992, Guo Xueping, the chief scientist of Bloomage Biotech, pioneered the application of microbial fermentation in the production of hyaluronic acid, which significantly improved production efficiency, reduced costs, and greatly expanded the application field of hyaluronic acid.

In the field of ophthalmology, hyaluronic acid not only provides viscoelastic agent for cataract patients and corneal transplant patients in surgery but also acts as the main component of "artificial tears" sodium hyaluronate eye drops, which can be used to treat dry eye and relieve visual fatigue.

In the field of orthopedics, hyaluronic acid is the main component of synovial fluid. Intra-articular injection of hyaluronic acid can lubricate joints, relieve joint wear and effectively treat joint pain. In addition to injections, studies have shown that oral hyaluronic acid can supplement hyaluronic acid in joint synovial fluid, maintain joint health, prevent the formation of arthritis, effectively relieve joint pain and improve mobility.

The history of oral hyaluronic acid in the food industry can be traced back to 1996, when it was approved for use in food in Japan. Besides preventing joint injury, oral hyaluronic acid can also help maintain skin moisture and elasticity, regulate intestinal immune health, and make eyes brighter and more moisturized.

In the field of skin care, hyaluronic acid is widely recognized as=an ideal natural moisturizing factor.  It is used in various cosmetics and medical beauty products to provide moisturizing and beautifying effects. According to the data, hyaluronic acid accounts for 43% of the injected medical beauty in China. According to different molecular weights, hyaluronic acid has different skin care effects. High molecular weight hyaluronic acid can form a protective film on the skin surface, lock the skin isolation barrier and isolate UV and smog. Medium and low molecular weight hyaluronic acid has the function of cell migration and can effectively repair damaged and aged skin cells; Oligohyaluronic acid can penetrate the basal layer directly.

The development of hyaluronic acid is also a history of biotechnology evolution. Hyaluronic acid exists not only to make people look younger and more beautiful but also to improve their health and quality of life.
